Linda Colby lived in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester until 20 years of age when she left to teach school in Melbourne, Australia. Upon her return, she married Wayne J. Colby and had one son, Jared Colby who is now married to Alanna Quinn-Broadus.
Linda started her career teaching in Leicester and Shrewsbury, and then worked in business in finance and human resources. She later returned to the teaching profession at Leicester High School and finished her teaching career at Hopkinton Middle School.
Linda attended Leicester High School and Anna Maria College. She went on to earn two master’s degrees: one Clark University and the other from Framingham State University. Her educational experiences in art, finance, and technology have helped her undertake many volunteer activities. Currently she does the bookkeeping and social media for Deja New, works as a volunteer at Leicester Middle School, and has created many signs for the town of Leicester.
Why does she volunteer at Deja New? In her words, “ I have a heart for service and want to use my skills and knowledge to help others.”
